aOn the evening of May 28, 2023, teachers from the Department of Information and Communication Engineering of the School of Computer and Information Science visited the dormitories of the 2022 freshmen in the Telecommunications Science major at the Xuancheng Campus. Teachers including Meibin Qi, Haiyan Zhang, Yanxiang Chen, Xiaohong Li, Xin Chen, Jing Jin, Liying Nie, and Shuo Zhuang had a meaningful exchange with the students. The purpose of this activity was to promote interaction between teachers and students, understand the students' lives and studies on campus, and provide necessary support and guidance.
In the student dormitory, the teachers had face-to-face communication with the students. The students actively raised various questions, covering their learning progress, course arrangements, extracurricular activities, and life in various aspects. The teachers patiently listened and provided detailed answers and suggestions for each question. At the same time, young teachers shared the challenges and experiences they encountered during their student days, encouraging students to develop a positive learning attitude and confidence, and guiding them on how to plan their time and deal with academic pressure. In addition, the teachers also asked the students about their understanding of the courses and their learning progress, encouraging them to actively participate in classroom discussions and experimental practices, and participate in academic lectures at the school to enhance their comprehensive qualities. The teachers also introduced some internship and employment directions, providing some guidance and suggestions for the students' future career development.
Visiting student dormitories and having face-to-face communication with students is a long-standing tradition of the first party branch of the Information and Communication Engineering Department. This thematic education activity has brought teachers and students closer together, providing an opportunity for teachers in the Information and Communication Engineering Department to understand student needs. It also allows students to feel the care and support from teachers, promoting the development of the college and the improvement of educational quality.
