On May 31, 2023, the National College Internet of Things Design Competition (Huawei Cup) entered the campus and held a technology lecture tour (Hefei University of Technology Station) at our school. More than 80 teachers and students from Anhui University of Architecture, Anhui Agricultural University, Chaohu College and other provincial universities and our school participated in this event. The technical lecture was hosted by Associate Professor Wei Zhenchun of our school.

Wang Dong, the Secretary-General of the Expert Group for the Teaching and Research of Internet of Things Engineering of the Computer Teaching Guidance Committee of the Ministry of Education, the Secretary-General of the National College Internet of Things Design Competition Organizing Committee, the Director of the RFID and Internet of Things Research Institute of Shanghai Jiaotong University, and a doctoral supervisor, delivered a speech on behalf of the organizing committee at the event. He reviewed the history of the competition since 2014, shared valuable experiences in technology reserve, team building, and school-enterprise cooperation, and highly praised the organization and achievements of the school in the competition.

Professor Wu Gongqing, the head of the Department of Computer Science and Technology at the School of Computer and Information, Hefei University of Technology, delivered a speech on behalf of the hosting unit. He introduced the features of our school's Internet of Things Engineering program and the achievements we have made in various technology competitions.

Subsequently, six technical experts from well-known companies in the field of Internet of Things, such as Zhaoyi Innovation, Guanghetong, and Espressif Systems, gave a systematic introduction to cutting-edge IoT technologies such as Zhaoyi Innovation's project proposition explanation and development process sharing, Guanghetong's construction of IoT communication bases using 5G/4G standard modules, and Espressif Systems' exploration of agricultural innovation applications based on ESP32-S3. They also analyzed the prospects of IoT technology research and application, and provided a detailed interpretation of the competition topics and resource support. During the lecture, experts from various companies interacted with the audience, including students and teachers, and gave detailed answers to their questions. The atmosphere was warm and the academic atmosphere was strong.

During the technical lecture, our school's Vice Dean of Undergraduate Education and Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education, Li Junpeng, Secretary-General Chen Yun of the Anhui Province Electronics Society, Secretary-General Wang Dong, and visiting enterprise experts had a cordial conversation.
This technical lecture not only broadened the horizons of teachers and students, but also provided positive guidance for university science and technology competitions, innovation and entrepreneurship.
The National College Internet of Things Design Competition (Huawei Cup) is the only subject competition in the field of IoT founded by the Computer Science Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education for higher education institutions. Its goal is to promote professional development, cultivate college students' innovation ability, and solve complex engineering problems through subject competitions, and to promote the learning and mastery of cutting-edge IoT technology by college students. In 2023, this event was included in the competition list published in the "2022 National College Student Competition Analysis Report" by the China Higher Education Society.
