At the invitation of Qi Meibin and Xiang Houhong from our Department of Information and Communication Engineering, at 3 p.m. on November 8, 2023, Xu Jin, a researcher from the 38th Institute of China Electronics Technology Group and a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, gave an academic lecture titled 'The Development of Radar Technology and the Challenges it Faces' in Classroom 101, Building 5 of the Jade Science and Education Building. Professor Qi Meibin hosted the lecture, and teachers and students from relevant research directions of the college attended the lecture.

During the lecture, Researcher Xu Jin introduced the birth, development, key technologies of radar, and the major challenges it currently faces. After the lecture, teachers such as Qi Meibin, Xiang Houhong, and Zhou Hongping discussed issues such as the fusion of multi-band radar signals and the development of telecommunications engineering with Researcher Xu Jin.

Researcher Xu Jin is the chief expert of the 38th Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation and a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He has been engaged in the research and development of air defense radar systems, and has conducted in-depth research in areas such as anti-stealth radar and large array system design. He has presided over the development of various types of backbone air defense radars.
