The Information and Communication Engineering discipline began its research direction within the Computer Application Technology discipline in 1978 and started admitting master's students. In 1986, it obtained the authorization for a master's degree in the Signal, Circuits, and Systems discipline (changed to Signal and Information Processing discipline in 1993 during a disciplinary adjustment). In 2000, it gained recognition as a key discipline in Signal and Information Processing in Anhui Province. In 2006, it obtained the first-level discipline master's degree authorization in Information and Communication Engineering. This discipline is oriented towards national and industry development needs, aligning with national science and technology development strategies and focusing on significant technological issues within the field. It establishes innovative platforms, refines disciplinary directions, forms high-level academic teams, improves research and teaching conditions, and cultivates innovative talents, providing comprehensive and robust support for economic development in the central region and beyond.
